Outdoor Visitation

Outdoor visits include all forms of patio, courtyards and visits that take place outside the buildings.


Health Center Outdoor Visits

  • No Visitations Scheduled on Tuesdays
  • Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday: 1 – 4pm and 6 – 7:30 pm
  • Saturday & Sunday: 1 – 4pm and 6 – 7:30pm
  • Check in at the administration doors, Entrance E upon arriving and then drive to their visitation location. (Visitation Map)


Assisted Living Outdoor Visits

  • No Visitations Scheduled on Tuesdays
  • Visiting hours:  1–4pm and 6–7:30pm
  • Trent building visitors will check in at the Assisted Living, Entrance C upon arriving and then drive to their visitation location. (Visitation Map)


Home Plus Outdoor Visits

  • No Visitations Scheduled on Tuesdays
  • Visiting hours:  1–4pm and 6–7:30pm 
  • Nancy’s Place visitors will check in at the Home Plus Entrance upon arriving and then walk to their visitation location. (Visitation Map)


Independent Living Outdoor Visits

  • Monday–Friday:  8:30am–7:30pm
  • Saturday & Sunday:  8:30am–12pm
  • Check in at the Manchester building Main Entrance.

To cancel a scheduled visit please contact the unit Social Worker or Concierge Services.

Outdoor Visitation Requirements

REQUIRED SCREENING FOR VISITORS ON ALL OUTDOOR VISITS

  • Visitors must upon arrival, be screened at the designated kiosk: for fever, answer questions related to signs and symptoms of COVID-19, and attest to COVID-19 status if known, and communicate travels within the last 14 days.
  • Any visitor under investigation for COVID-19 or actively not well will not be permitted to visit.


Infection Prevention Requirements for ALL Outdoor Visits:

  • Residents and visitors must wear face masks at all times, unless medically contraindicated, and are encouraged to bring their own. If they don’t have one, one will be provided by staff.
  • Residents and visitors will use alcohol-based hand rub properly before and after the visit. A sign explaining how to sanitize will be located at the check-in table.
  • Residents and visitors must socially distance a minimum of six (6) feet.
  • Staff will sanitize visiting surfaces with germicidal wipes per guidelines, after each visit.
  • No food or drink is allowed during visits.
  • No exchanging of delivered items is allowed during visits. Please refer to the Deliveries for Residents section of this policy.


What You Need to Know BEFORE You Visit

Outdoor Visits

Visitation in the health center is decided per neighborhood, based on the neighborhood’s precaution level and staff availability to facilitate an outdoor visit.

  1. Residents may have three visit per week, 2-4 visitors per visit, and are limited to 30 minutes a visit.
  2. Visits must be scheduled at least one day in advance and visitors must adhere to prescheduled visit time. To cancel, visitors will call the unit Social Worker or Concierge Services.
  3. Staff will assist residents to and from the visit.
  4. Visitors may not enter the building at any time except to register / sign in.
  5. No exchanges may happen at the visit. Visitors must bring items to the front entrance. Please see policy on Deliveries for Residents.
  6. No Visitors under the age of 12 will be allowed.
  7. Pets must be on a leash, under the control of the Visitor, and must prove rabies vaccination via tag or vaccination records.
  8. All visits are weather permitting.
  9. Aldersgate Village has the right to deny outdoor visits if the resident or visitor does not comply with infection prevention and control guidance.
  10. A resident who is suspected or confirmed to be infected with COVID-19 or quarantined for a COVID-19 exposure cannot have visitors. A resident who has tested positive is allowed visitation after they have met the criteria for discontinuation of isolation.


Compassionate Care Visits

Compassionate Care Visits will be allowed for all levels of care; Independent Living, Assisted Living, Home Plus and Health Center. Those arriving for compassionate care visits will park in the designated visitor parking. You will be allowed to access through the main entrance of the building you are entering to complete screening and access to your compassionate care visit.

Virtual Visits

Video calls for residents and families are encouraged to combat social isolation and loneliness. We will continue to assist residents with staying connected with their family and friends using technology devices. We can assist anyone in setting up FaceTime, Zoom, & Google Duo meetings. If you are interested in scheduling a video call with your family member, please contact a support staff member to visit with you about this.

Deliveries for Residents

For families dropping off items or non-perishable food for residents, please drop these items off from 8am to 6pm, Monday through Friday only at the Main Entrances indicated on the campus map. The receptionist will make arrangements to have items delivered to your loved one. Please do not bring hot or cold food items and no money exchanges will be accepted during this time.


Do You Need Assistance When You Arrive?

We know navigating the Aldersgate Campus can be confusing. If you need assistance when you arrive, please call the the neighborhood unit or Security: 785-221-6960, and we will be happy to help you. Our Life Enrichment Team will also provide directions to you when you schedule your visit. You can call your loved one’s unit after hours for assistance also.
